Rich_headshotI am a Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychologist with many years of experience treating and assessing youth with emotional, behavioral, and social difficulties.

I received my Ph.D. from the University of Florida.

I completed my Predoctoral Internship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

I completed my Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in the Mood and Anxiety Program.

My clinical work has been acknowledged with the Shafer Award for Excellence in Psychotherapeutic Counseling as well as the Harrower Award for Excellence in Psychodiagnostic Assessment.

I am also an Assistant Professor at the Catholic University of America, in the Department of Psychology.  I am actively involved in clinical research with children with anxiety, ADHD, autism, and bipolar disorder.  I have published over 40 articles in scientific journals and given over 100 presentations at national and international scientific conferences.  My research has been supported by grants from the NIMH, and my research accomplishments have been recognized by awards from the NIMH, National Institute of Health (NIH), American Psychological Association, Anxiety Disorders Association of America, and Society of Biological Psychiatry.  I teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Clinical Child Assessment, Developmental Psychopathology, Abnormal Child Psychology, and Psychology and the Media.
